WOYWW - on time for once!!

I have actually posted on a Wednesday for once (instead of Thursday or not at all)!!

As you can see there is a Forever Friends decoupage theme to my desk today - weddings to be precise. I have a card to do for next weekend, and decided to just layer the whole pack up at once (otherwise I find the pieces all get lost!)
The Vicks inhaler is for poor Mum who's had a cold for weeks and keeps getting all congested.

Pop over to Julia's to see what everyone else is up to!

Karensdoodles Flower Bear!

Here's a great digi stamp from Karensdoodles. I've coloured him in with Whispers pens, and tinted the edge of the nestie cut with pink ink. The brown flowered paper is from a Daisy & Dandelion pack. Then just some ribbon, a few brads and a sentiment to embellish!

Challenges I'm entering:
Karensdoodles Netherlands #7 - Anything Goes
C.R.A.F.T #47 - Pink & Brown
Dare U 2 Digi Stamp #36 - Flowers

Tilda among the flowers!

I've finally got around to colouring one of the Tilda's I stamped in my little frenzy a few weeks ago, as I found her somewhere new to sit and watch the world go by! The flower pot is a fab die-cut from Susie and I have made the flowers myself using a punch, and distressed them with a nail file. The pink & green textured card is from DCWV scrapbook kit in a stack - I had no idea it would distress until I ripped a bit and it's got a white core! The blue paper is Papermania, the brown is Daisy & Dandelion. I also used my Sizzix flourishes sizzlit that I haven't used for AGES (if ever) for the stems and the little hearts.

Challenges I'm entering:

Vintage Man!

Here's a card I made for my football-loving cousin.

I've used some Papermania basics stripy paper, and the image is from the DoCrafts Creativity CD from a few issues ago. It says "Vintage" on the back of his jacket so perfect for the Ooh La La Challenge! I've folded the edge of the card for a different look, and used blue brads to hold it down (and DST as it was flapping a bit). Peel off to finish!

Beaded necklace

When I went to my friend's hen party last weekend I took up the necklace I made for her birthday:
I followed a pattern from Bead magazine, and used blue, pink and white seed beads, and a silver toggle clasp.
Good news - she loved it!!

Flirty Thirty!!

Here's a girly card I made for one of my vet friends who is 30 this year! It was a bit of a rush as I hadn't really been in the mood for cardmaking, but I think it turned out ok!

I've used the Dovecraft Glamour prints paper, and then a Sizzlits handbag die (I cut 2 in different colours to add the detail). I also used the smaller nesties from our new set and embellished with gems and the peel off numbers!

Happy Hen Weekend!

I'm off up to Lancaster on Saturday for the hen weekend of a friend I've known all my life. We're going to a spa hotel so with a few of her friends, and her mum & sister. Should be good! It was only her birthday on Saturday, but I've just done a card for the weekend! I know she's had a busy time at work and the wedding is 3wks on Saturday so I thought I'd give her this card to tell her to enjoy herself and relax!

The image is, I believe, a Penny Black called "Primp" (I got it with my blog candy from Kate). I thought it was the perfect picture for a girls pampering weekend!! The main paper is from Daisy & Dandelion paper pack, and the gorgeous flowers were from my latest blog candy from Jude. I've used my nestie scalloped circles and deckled rectangles, some little gems and some pearl/metal brads (bought ages ago and only recently re-discovered).

Challenges I'm entering:
Pollycraft #39 - Pink AND brown plus yellow or green
The Pink Elephant # 62 - 1 image, 2 dies (nesties), 3 fave embellishments (flowers)
For Fun Challenges #8 - Encouraging card#
Quixotic Paperie #21 - Heavy Metal
Allsorts #47 - Petals & pearls

WOYWW (on Thursday)

Well it seems that keeping to a Wednesday is proving difficult - I think partly because I now tend to be at my "voluntary" or "getting experience" job on a Wednesday, so I'm not crafting! Here's my desk today instead!

I'm just doing a card for my friend who's Hen party I'm going to for the weekend, although I seem to be so tired today it's taking ages and I may have to have a nap later!!

Pop over to Julia's to see what everyone else was up to yesterday!

There is some pink/purple butterfly/spot ribbon from Hobbycraft, and 3 GORGEOUS paper roses from the blog candy I won from Jude! Happy Day!!

Just a quick post before I go to bed....it's been a lovely day outside so I haven't done any cardmaking as I went out for dinner to a lovely country pub with one of my oldest friends (ie one I've known the longest, not oldest age-wise). We had a lovely meal, a good catch up and then a nice cup of tea with her parents when I dropped her home. We didn't see each other for absolutely ages when we were both at uni etc and I'm so pleased we've got back to meeting up more frequently.

BUT the most exciting event today was the arrival of my cousin's first baby! She was born at 3.31am, 8pounds 7ounces and Gaz & Lisa (the proud parents) have called her Olivia. I was privileged to get the first picture via mobile phone and she's beautiful (as Gaz said, she has fortunately got her mummy's looks)!

Anyway, off to bed for me, and perhaps will get a chance to craft tomorrow afternoon if all goes to plan, before going to my first proper ZUMBA class in the evening - fun fun fun!!

A Giraffe with a necktie...

It could only be a MelJen's Designs creation!! if you haven't visited her, please do - she is a fantastic artist and has wonderful digi stamps (including freebies on Mondays)!!

I've used some yellow marbly paper from a magazine pack, the orange paper is, believe it or not, the envelope from my Orange mobile bill! Then some ribbon, a bow, flowers & a brad from Papermania Capsule Sunshine collection! And a peel off sentiment/stars!

I've used some green & pink striped paper from a magazine pack, and some pink paper from a Papermania pack. The flowers are from Papermania Capsule Verde collection, and I've used a little pink brad to secure them. Then just a few gems to finish it off, and a peel-off sentiment.

Edward is back....!

I just had to get "Flirty Edward" from The Greeting Farm, as a Twilight fan!

I saw the Farm Fresh Friday challenge, and whilst sorting out some old post, I found an envelope with a brilliant black & white pattern on the inside, that I thought I could use (and as it happened to be an A4 envelope I've got loads left to use again)!
The spotty paper was a scrap  from the pile on the desk. The fantastic word art sentiment is from Create with TLC - Paulette has loads of great wordart so go and have a look! I then finished off by distressing the edges with a plain black ink pad!

WOYWW - very very late!

Ok, so I didn't get round to posting this yesterday (only took the pic), and unfortunately haven't visited any of the other lovely desks this week, as I've been getting some experience at my "foster practice" as it were. And had induction for my new part time job yesterday so all a bit hectic!!

As you can see, there's been a lot of printing, and a bit of colouring going on. That was my lunch (that I had at about 2pm in the end). Hopefully might get round to doing something with all these images soon!! Hope you've all visited Julia's blog already to see what everyone's up to!!

I'll try to be on time next week!!

Ok, so here's the first of my jewellery makes...it's a floral/butterfly bookmark (from Silver Fairy Design) that I got at the NEC last week, and I've attached a bead tassle I made myself from a pattern in a book!

I gave this to my Aunty (who bought me my jewellery making tools, beads and two books for Christmas - aren't I lucky?) as I didn't see her on her birthday but it was in time for Easter and looked very spring-y with all the flowers and butterfly etched into the bookmark!!
