WOYWW - My 2nd week!

As so many of the lovely WOYWW-ers said last week, I will be doing this every week!
I've cheated slightly, in that I have 2 desks on the go at the moment - the one in the craft room:

as you can see I've had a bit of a stamping spree - never done that before as I always get REALLY frustrated. I think StazOn ink has helped though, as I didn't have many smudges at all and was quite pleased! So there's a few Tilda's, Pickles, Onions & rabbits, as well as my new Whimsy Wings of Hope stamp that I won! I have been asked about the Pritt roller glue - we've had it for ages, but the non-perm roll just ran out, so I've had to put in a permanent roll til I can get a replacement. They're so expensive - if anyone knows a cheap place to get the refills please shout up!!

and the one in my bedroom:

As expected, I haven't actually had much time to do cardmaking since Thursday with my Aunty staying for a fab weekend, but have done a bit of beadwork (as I bought some more jewellery making kit at the NEC!!) I've been making some tassles from a pattern in a book she bought me for Christmas!

I will upload my first proper gift that I gave as a late birthday present to my Aunty soon!

Look forward to see all your desks too! Pop over to Julia's to see who else is showing off their crafty havens!

Little Mice!!

This image is one from my little package that Lisa sent me AGES ago, but I've only just got around to using it!! It is apparently "House Mouse Cozy Shoe" and I've coloured it using my trusty Whispers!
The swirly brown paper and the mint green paper is from my Inspire Creationz blog candy win in January!
I've made my own flowers using 2 different size punches, and have added some gems!

Challenges I'm entering:
Sketch Saturday #95 - sketch
Sophisticat #27 - Mint green, lilac & one other colour & flowers

WOYWW!

Here's my first posting of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - not a whole lot today. Did some inserts for cards this morning that needed sending. Sealed up a homemade envelope with DST only to realise I hadn't signed the card - DOH!! So had to quickly make another envelope. Then tidied it up a bit (with my cup of Chai Latte)

Off to Hobbycrafts at the NEC tomorrow, then Aunty's coming to stay on Friday so not much crafting getting done til next week I think! Boohoo!!

Easter Dragon??

Ok, so I know it's traditional to have an Easter Bunny, but I've used this Dustin Pike image, and he seems quite at home as a substitute!! I made this little card for my godson, as he's about the right age for dragons!!

I think the spotted paper is from Daisy & Dandelion (but can't quite remember) and the green paper was free with a magazine. I've cut out some egg shapes (as best as I could), and have decorated them with glitter flocking powder. Felt like trying something a bit different, although not sure it's totally worked!!

Saying Thank You with Flowers!

I've just had a fab weekend up north staying with a vet friend - we met last May and only worked together for a month, but it was an eventful job for both of us, and we've kept in touch since! I made this card to thank her and her parents for having me!

The spotty dotty paper was free with a magazine - I just love the Spring theme at the moment so thought the colours would suit!
The image is a Little Claire's stamp (Flower pot with bow) which I stamped onto acetate using Staz-On ink. I then "coloured" it in with glitter! I've added a peel-off sentiment, some yellow ribbon and some flowers with little buttons from Papermania Capsule Collection!

Challenges I'm entering:
Creative Card Crew #46 - Going Dotty
Crafty Creations #59 - Spots & Dots
Totally Gorjuss #22 -Ribbon
Paperplay #11 - Thank You
Ooh La La Challenge #50 - Button, bow & bling

All About the Flowers!

Here's a flowery card for my "Aunty" Maureen's spring birthday!

The paper is from Papermania, and I've added some Sizzix die-cut flowers, along with small and larger punched flowers, with gems. The yellow paper (apart from the main card edge) is all from Post-It notes! (They were handily the right size for the topper and the flowers)!! Random but cheap! The peel-off are from a new sheet I bought last week - more readable and "funky" than some of my older ones.

Challenges I'm entering:
Crafty Catz #24 - Spring
Quirky Crafts #24 - Flowers

Thank you to Wendy at Digital Doodling!

Very quick post as it's going to be a busy day tomorrow... (and I have another interview...fingers crossed)!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Wendy at Digital Doodling for spotlighting the card I made using her lovely China Belle. I'm sure many of you have visited her blog, and if not then you really must because her digital images are wonderful, and perfect for all occasions. They have really got me into using images on my cards, as I'm not very good at stamping with ink (need to practice more I think), so with her images I've been able to skip the frustrating part and get on with the fun!

Happy Easter!!

Wow - 3rd card today... not had such a productive crafty day for a while! So, I decided to have a go at a Spring-y Easter card!!

So, this sweet little die-cut image is from the freebie pack in the most recent Crafts Beautiful magazine. Then I've used 2 lots of freebie papers - spots and stripes, and then a printed sentiment (from Word)! There's one piece of ribbon (from Papermania Capsule collection) cut into six, and then a flower with a button, and 2 flowery eyelets!!

After the lovely comments I received from my last fairy card (from Sliekje digi stamps) , I thought I'd do another - this time in blue!

Pink and Green!

Here's the first of the two cards I've made this morning (using up some paper bits, and trying a punch I didn't even know we had).

I've used some of the Funky Hand wordbook paper (the flourishy one on top), and then some pink gingham paper on the bottom. The little china girl is one of Wendy's Digital Doodlings, and I've used a little sentiment topper that came free with a magazine (and added a peel-off). I've used 2 heart eyelets, and some green ribbon. The flowers & leaves are punched from spotted/gingham/green offcuts, and I've just added some gems in the centre.

Double Whammy win!

Just a quick exciting update...I won a Wings of Hope Whimsy stamp over on Deb's blog as part of her sneak peek celebration for the Whimsy Blog Hop "A Spin on the Merry Go Round" - if you haven't already trotted along, please do - they are demonstrating Crissy Armstrong's fabulous carousel horses!

Start at the Whimsy blog, and enjoy the ride!!

Ooh, and....I also won Net's birthday candy over at her blog, Caique Momma! (Go and have a look at her beautiful cards - and the lovely Caiques)!

Happy Birthday with Wings of Hope

Finally got around to finishing this - it's been sat on the desk for a few days part-done!

I've used the Whimsy Wings of Hope did stamp, coloured with Whispers and with added Glamour Dust.
The spotted paper is from Daisy & Dandelion "Daisy Patch" collection, and the letters and their topper are die-cuts!

A Male Card....at last!!

Ok, so I kept looking at the challenges who ask for a male card, and I gave in - I coloured Prince Ian from The Greeting Farm, and decided that his jumper needed to match my paper, so he now has a stripy top.

The papers are all from Dovecraft's Masculine collection, and I've just added some buttons on the blue ribbon, and a peel-off - Simples!!

Mother's Day 2 - Special Delivery

Well, we normally have a card from me and a card from the menagerie (sorry, I mean fur-babies), so here is a second card for Mother's Day. I can't decide which I like more....?

The cute digi image is "Special Delivery" from Karensdoodles, which I've coloured with Whispers pens. I've used text paper from DCWV Text Prints paper stack, and the green flowery paper is from Daisy & Dandelion Picnic Patch collection. I've die-cut the words with my Night & Day Sizzix alphabet. Then just some ribbon, a few hearts & gems & of course, some Glamour Dust on the lettering.

The main backing paper is from Papermania's Sweet Nothings collection, and the diamond paper is DCWV (Scrapbook kit in a stack). I've used a rub-on sentiment on a nestie-cut topper. I've gone over the flourishes on the backing paper with a glue pen & glamour dust, and added some gems here and there!

Summer Anya

Here's a card I made this morning using a Miss Anya I coloured a little while ago. The sun's out and I thought I'd make a summery card.

I used one of the sizzix texture plates to emboss the card (by hand), and the paper is from Cuddly Buddly. I've just added a ribbon down the side and a sentiment from the DoCrafts Creativitiy CDROM.

Challenges I'm entering:

Twilight Card!!

I've seen other people's Twilight-inspired cards and thought it was time to try my own! I have a couple of friends who are also Twilight-crazy, so I'm going to surprise one of them with it I think!
I also wanted to enter the two challenges (ICS & Colour Create) currently being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps!!

I have used The Greeting Farm's Prince Ian (he was available free here, but don't think he's there anymore)! I've coloured him with Whispers, then added Glamour Dust to his skin (so it shimmers like it does in the film!!), and little amber gems for his eyes.
The black paper is from Dovecraft Charcoal Prints pack, and the "off-white" is pearlescent paper. I've added thick red organza ribbon with a fabric flower & pearl brad.

The image is Wendy's "Cupcake Tilly" from Digital Doodling available here. I've used Whispers to colour her in. I've used Cosmic Shimmers to make a background on the scalloped topper (although can't see it shimmer in the photo) and embellished with gems!
The paper is a free download from Cuddly Buddly - love the colours! Flowers & ribbon from Papermania Sunshine Capsule Collection, with glitter brads & buttons. The sentiment is from an old Let's Make Cards pack.

Congratulations and Celebrations

A bit of good news....my best friend Mel (another vet) has got herself a new job!! After 18mths in a job she didn't like she's finally got one - she applied during my lucky week (a few weeks ago now) and found out yesterday that she got it!! So I got straight to work and just posted this off...

She is especially good with rabbits, so I picked this little cutie from the Digi Shack (that I downloaded last year) as the main theme on my easel card. Coloured with Whispers and a bit of glamour dust here and there!
The paper is from a Daisy & Dandelion pack, with some punched flowers embellished with gems along 2 ribbons - lots of bling!! There's also a giant eyelet that came with my Cropadile. I made the wire "Congratulations" myself and am kicking myself as I just realise that looking at it I haven't dotted the "i" - tsk!
Best thing of all....Mel made her first cards last week!!! I bought her a FF kit for her Birthday last year, and she actually went to two other shops last Monday and bought some more stuff and made her first 4 cards all in one afternoon - job done!!

Thank You Gatefold card

Here is a little card I made to say thank you to my friend's parents for having me to stay at the weekend. Had a girly sleepover with my friend Sarah with lots of reminiscing about school days and some Wii fun on Sunday morning. Was just what I needed after last week, and got some proper sleep too (eventually after all the talking)!

It is a gatefold card (using A5 card to start), and I've dry embossed wavy lines using one of the Glitter Girls boards. The stripy paper is from the Papermania Sunshine Capsule Collection. I've punched 3 flowers, and decorated them with FlowerSoft (I think it's the heather mix) and 3 button from the Papermania Capsule too (along with a little bow).
Challenges I'm entering:
Flourishes Timeless Challenge #22 - Flowers
ABC - O is for One Paper
Dutch Dare Card Challenge # 72 - Open the Gate
Cute Card Thursday #101 - Ribbon-tastic (either a little or a lot)
