Distressing Christmas!

No no, I don't mean Christmas is distressing! I love Christmas - favourite time of year - friends & family, Christmas markets, music, decorations, presents and fun!

Everything here is from the Papermania Henbury Lane Poinsettia Ultimate A4 Collector's Pack (a brilliant set if you get a chance to get one). I've used an A5 card, and inked the edges with lovely pinky-red pigment ink, and distressed the edges of the backing paper.

Challenges I'm entering:
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #88 - Ink & Edge distressing
Corrosive Challenge #86 - No white paper
The Crafty Pad #93 - Distressed or torn edges

Tagalicious!

I decided to try making a tag for a change! I used a Nellie Snellen circle die for the base (with pink card). The butterfly is made of felt, from the Papermania Henbury Lane collection, and I've decorated it with lots and lots of bling!! Then a ribbon to attach it to a present!!

Challenges I'm entering:
Dutch Dare #88 - Tagalicious
Moving Along With The Times #67 - Anything but a card

Tilda Bookmark & Fancy Fold card

Here's a diagonal double pocket card made from a Splitcoast Stampers tutorial.

I've used G.C.D Studios Cloisonne double sided paper to make the actual pocket card. The gardening image on the front is from Beccy's Place  - she has loads of lovely digis to play with! I've coloured with Promarkers, and added "60" in peel-off number to the tea-cup as the card is for my friend's mum's 60th!

In the top pocket of the card I have placed a bookmark, made using gold cardstock, and Tilda with Wedding Gifts, coloured with Promarkers (to match the paper). I printed the sentiment off from Word!! I've added a ribbon and totally forgot to put an eyeley around the hole!! (Too many other things going on at home)!

Papertake Weekly - New Beginnings

They are having a great Blog Hop over at Papertake Weekly to celebrate their 3rd Birthday! The challenge for this week is to choose a challenge from the last 3yrs....ANY challenge!

I've chosen "New Beginnings" from 5th Jan 2010 as I have a very good friend who has FINALLY moved into a new house with her fiance after a lot of waiting for the previous owner to get out!

The image is a digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil, called "Home Tweet Home", coloured with Promarkers. I've used brown spotted paper from a Daisy & Dandelion paper pack, and my Nellie Snellen multiframe circles.

Challenges I'm entering:
Papertake Weekly - New Beginnings

A Gem of a Challenge - No 8

Here's a really girly card I've made using "Sprinkles" the fairy from Pink Gem. She's coloured using Whispers (in the days before my Promarkers).
The spotted paper is from My Mind's Eye Summer paper pack and the sentiment is from a Flower Fairies Dufex decoupage sheet. I've used my NEW Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die to cut the flower, embellished with a gem, and there's a couple of punched stars. I've covered everything in Glamour dust as usual, oh and inked around the edge of the paper!

Challenges I'm entering:
A Gem of a Challenge #8 - Sketch +/- Sparkle
Oldie But A Goodie #2 - Pink & Girly
Crafty Catz Challenge #52 - Birthday card for a child with sparkle
Sweet Stampin' #46 - Punch it out

Autumn Daisy!

Here's another card featuring Daisy. She's our only Sugar Nellie girl at the moment, so all my Sugar Bowl entries feature her! I've used Promarkers to colour her.
I've used pigment inks to colour the edge of my card (a bit of orange, yellow & green), and used some flower paper from a magazine freebie to go for an autumn colour theme. I'm not sure what the green net-string stuff is (if someone could enlighten me that would be great....), but I've added some of that as I found it lying in the bottom of the drawer and is seemed to fit. I've cut some Core Color card using nesties, and Daisy's sitting in the middle.

Sparkling Christmas!

Cor Blimey!! I've been trying to upload this one picture for almost an hour with the silly new uploader thingy which just kept stopping/locking my internet explorer up!! Almost gave up, but thought I'd try one more time with this image! (There's a close up of the decoupage but I might try to upload it later)
Anyway, here's another easel card I've made using the Papermania Henbury Lane Poinsettia ultimate decoupage pack. 3 different papers from that collection and the prop-up strip is also a die-cut from the pack. I've added a load of Glamour Dust just to finish it off!

By The Cute & Girly GDT October - SPOOKY!!

I was picked to be a guest member of the Design Team for the By The Cute & Girly Challenge  in October, and Lisa has chosen a "Spooky" theme, in the lead up to Halloween!
Now, this might be a blanket statement, but Halloween isn't a big thing in England, unlike the USA, so I've never actually made a card for it before (and therefore didn't really have any supplies). It's a real shame, as there are so many brilliant stamps, papers and embellishments out there!

So, I made three creations with what I could find (mainly freebies!!), and hopefully it might help to inspire those who also haven't ventured into spooky crafting before!

Project One

Technique: Papermania tunnel card template using blue cardstock & acetate
Image: Halloween freebie from KLM Digi Stamps coloured with Promarkers
Stickers: Halloween fun stickers from Craft Planet

Challenges I'm entering:
Alice In Wonderland #32 - Window/Hole

Project Two
I thought I'd try something a bit different, in case we get any little trick or treat-ers visiting on Halloween! This is just a metal tin decorated with paper and ribbon!

Technique: Altered tin
Paper: Free download from Stamping All Day

Challenges I'm entering:
Crafty Ann's Challenge #24 - Anything but a card

Project Three

This one was a lot of fun to make - tricky, but definitely fun!

Technique: T-Slider card using template from Kim Score at Splitcoast Stampers
Image: James from Just Inklined Digital Stamps coloured with Promarkers
Stickers: Halloween fun stickers from Craft Planet

Challenges I'm entering:
Paper Sundaes #37 - Things with Wings (bats)

Well, I hope you've enjoyed seeing what everyone has created for the October Challenge, and that you'll all have a go too!

I bought the Papermania Henbury Lane Poinsettia ultimate decoupage pack the other day, and here's  the easel card I've made with one of the decoupage scenes:

I've used the green, red & white spotted/striped paper from that collection, and the dark red leaf pattern paper, the strip of stars, and the sentiment. I punched some holly using a Dovecraft punch, and the snowflake charm is from Mad Cow Beads.

So Dad asked me on Friday if I could make a card for his work mate who supports Liverpool Football Club. I trawled through craft forums, and eventually found a very cleverly created backing paper & decoupage topper. I added a few football peel-offs and that was that!

House Mouse Challenge Sketch & Blog Hop

I've made this card for my cousin's son's birthday - he's 5yrs old next week and just started school, so I thought this "Bedtime Stories" image was perfect! It's coloured with Promarkers. The spotted & diamond paper is from the Dovecraft Masculine paper pack, and I've added some old buttons I found lurking in a drawer, some little metallic-looking embellishments & some twine. The green punched edge was made using my Martha Stewart scallop border punch. I've inked all the way around the card with bronze pigment ink.

You've Been Framed!

So I've been working slightly outside the usual papercraft box to get this finished in time for Mum & Dad's return, and hoped to enter into a few challenges where "altered/alternative" crafts are allowed...
It's my first attempt at a beaded frame, but i hope they like it! (In case anyone's wondering, it's a basic wooden frame from B&Q).

Challenges I'm attempting to enter:
Cupcake Craft #109 - Transport
Top Tip Tuesday #2 - Tip or Alter (Obviously I chose to alter this photo frame)

Get Well Soon Mum!

A little update on Mum & Dad's holiday... Mum's knee gave way on Wednesday night, and she collapsed on the dancefloor (yes, I was wondering what tricky move she was trying that could cause such trouble). She hasn't been able to walk since...has been wheeled round the hotel in a wheelchair, although that last few days she has managed to get  onto the beach (somehow)!
They come home tomorrow, and we're going straight to the doctor to see if they can find out what's wrong & whether she needs to go for xrays etc. (Apparently the hotel medical person suspects tendon damage but can't be sure without xrays). So, here's a little card I made for her, and I'm off to the shop later for flowers.
The two papers are My Mind's Eye Summer pack, and the image is from the Daisy & Dandelion range, coloured with Promarkers. The die is Nellie Snellen mult frame circles, and I've added a little charm at the bottom.

Challenges I'm entering:
Simon Says Challenge - Move it (my little charm dangles!) You MUST go and watch the Madagascar movie clip!! It's awesome!!
ICS Challenge #83 - Sketch
Pile It On #37 - Red, yellow, brown & green

Beware the Mummy!

We don't "celebrate" Halloween in our family and it's not really a big thing in England, so I've never made any Halloween cards before. It's a shame really as there are some great images for the occasion, and they're a lot of fun to do
This Mummy is a freebie from Just Inklined Digital Stamps, and the sentiment is from Bird's Cards where you can also find loads of different images and sentiments. Both are coloured with Promarkers (just Ivory, Black & dusky pink) Because I don't have any Halloween papers/embellishments in my stash, I decided to try and go for a more tattered look. The card is actually backing cardboard from a pack of handmade paper, but it distresses really well round the edges, and the bottom half of the card was done by wrapping masking tape around a piece of card (after trying to distress the edges). Then I sponged everything with Tim Holtz rusty hinge distress ink!

Tilda with Wedding Gifts!

Ok, so I couldn't wait til tomorrow to post a picture of this card... I may have accidentally (ahem), bought another Tilda to play with, I just couldn't help it - I LOVE this one. It's Tilda with wedding gifts, and I just thought it would be great for EVERYTHING! Christmas, Birthdays, Weddings - anything!
It's for my best friend Mel (another vet), and I can't believe I left it so late to make (it's her birthday on Monday) - September's a busy craft month for me with all these birthdays/wedding/anniversary cards to make!!

I've used My Mind's Eye Summer Papers, and have coloured the lovely Tilda with Promarkers. I've added some Glamour Dust all over the place, and made some punched flowers with pearl stamens & gem petals. The green strip of card is punched with a Martha Stewart scallop punch. Oh, and the sentiment is cut out from one of the My Mind's Eye sheets.

Challenges I'm entering:

Totally Tilda #5 - Make your own flowers

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

I don't know if they'll be looking on here, but it's Dad's Birthday and Mum & Dad's Wedding Anniversary today, so I just thought I'd put a little note on here to say I'm thinking of them whilst they're away in sunny Mexico. They've got a massage and spa booked, so hopefully it should be a good day for them!

Here's a picture of us last year when we were all in Mexico on their special day!!

Clean & Simple Christmas!

A nice simple Christmas card for a change! I've used a piece of purple/text paper from DCWV Rose-Tinted Christmas pack, a green ribbon and a piece of white card with Christmas trees punch out, which I've coloured with Cosmic Shimmers and layered over some green shiny card! Simples!

Distressed Autumn

Well, I've just come back from having a lovely time in Derby at Mum's godson's wedding. The sun was shining, the bride was beautiful, and a good day was had by all! I stayed at my Aunty's overnight (as she and her husband looked after the dogs for me while I was at the wedding). So I didn't have time to show you the card I made on Saturday for my other Uncle's birthday... I had a go at distressing (after the arrival of my Making Memories edge scraper) but wasn't quite brave enough to use the one Tim Holtz distress ink I have (as I have no foam pad thingy), so I used a little bronze inkpad instead! I also used some old handmade paper (not by me, though), and ripped the edges of that. The image is from Joanna Sheen's Pamela West Collection CD-Rom, and perfect for the time of year we're approaching! The spotted & striped papers are from Dovecraft Masculine paper pack.

I Love You!

I've pulled out this little bunny from The Digi Shack again (coloured with Promarkers), as he seemed perfect for Dad's Anniversary card to Mum. (They got married on the 16th September - Dad's birthday, so he won't forget)!!
The "I Love You" paper is from Papermania Love collection, and I've layered a Ribbonbox paper lace heart onto some pink card, followed by the image. I added some pink heart ribbon, and little heart pearls in the corners. (In case there weren't enough hearts)

Challenges I'm entering:
Simon Says Challenge - Pearls & Lace

Here's looking at you, kid!

Dad's birthday card!! I've used House Mouse Gruffies "Finding Friends" image, and coloured it with Promarkers. I've used two different sheets of Dovecraft Masculine paper pack - the diamond and checks, layered onto brown card, with one brown ribbon and a peel-off.

Olive A Party! NO PEEKING MUM AND DAD!!

This gorgeous House Mouse image was sent to me by Heather in the House Mouse Blog Hop candy I won on her blog, Rica's Haven. It's perfect for my parents Wedding Anniversary, as Mum loves olives!! I've coloured with Promarkers. and again, was going to add some gloss but time got away!
The card I've used is from a new pack I bought yesterday (Mum hasn't seen it yet) - it's called Cloisonne, from GCD Studios. They've just started stocking it at The Range and Dunelm near me, and it's double-sided, which I wanted for a project I'm going to start on soon and hopefully finish before M&D return from Mexico!
The pink paper is punched with an XCut border punch, the little heart embellishments are from Dovecrafts (I won them ages ago in a blog candy at Donna's Den. The little charm I bought yesterday.

My first altered chipboard!!

At the last DoCrafts demo Mum & I went to at Ross Labels, the demonstrator (Louise) had made a wall sign using a page from a chipboard album. Now I have a few of these from a blog candy I won a while ago (they're made by Crayola), and that was just the inspiration I needed to get them out and have a go. At the same demo I also bought some little calendar tabs. Here's what I came up with...
Side One is decorated with striped paper from DCWV Scrapbook stack. The sentiment was downloaded from Papercrafts Magazine website. I think it's a brilliant one! I've sanded & inked the edges of the star shape and added some gems to each point for a bit of bling! 3 lovely roses to finish it off!

Side Two - The paper Papermania's Love paper pack, with a sentiment is from Create with TLC. Paulette has loads of fantastic sentiments and word arts so go and see the blog!! I've used a couple of chipboard hearts and some Zoomz (also won in candy). I popped a couple of eyelets into the punched holes and used some of my jewellery tiger tail wire & beads to make a loop to hang the calendar with.

LOTV Carol Singing!

Here's my first Lili of the Valley Challenge Card using "Carol Singing". I've coloured with Promarkers, but haven't quite worked out how to get the effects of the light/snow, so that's a work in progress for future cards!
The papers are from a DCWV Christmas stack (I've lost the front cover so not sure what it's called!!) I've used some green ribbon (with red stitching) and some red scalloped card (Martha Stewart punched). The sentiment is a clear 3D sticker.

Challenges I'm entering:
LOTV #59 - Sketch
Creative Craft Challenge #19 - Animal Antics
Passion for Promarkers #64 - Music

First Tunnel card!!

Mum & I recently bought the Papermania Tunnel Card template, and here's my first attempt using it!!

I've used a Miss Anya image coloured with Whispers (in the Promarker-era!!), and have glittered the white fur trims with Glamour dust!
The card is actually Cooredinations, and so I've distressed the edges with scissors, then used silver pearlescent glue & more glamour dust to highlight the edges (and hide my poor cutting skills)!! There is acetate across the "windows" with little stickers stuck on, and at the back I've used a Christmas tree from a paper pack, and embellished with gems. I love the sparkle (as I'm sure you've realised on this card) and get so excited about Christmas!!

Partying with Penny Black, in Pink!!

My cousin's daughter is 13 soon, so I thought I'd make her a really girly card! I've used the Penny Black "Partying" stamped image, coloured with Promarkers. The spotted paper and light pink is from a Forever Friends decoupage pack, and the darker pink is just Dovecraft plain paper pack. I've used a wire word I made myself, a few lovely flowers, a die-cut sentiment and some gems!

I've coloured her with my Promarkers, and both the papers are from the My Mind's Eye summer papers that were free with July's Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine. I think they're perfect for this little girl sitting outside with her flowers! I've added a couple of eyelets to the card, but kept it quite simple other than that!

Christmas in July!!

My first Christmas card of 2010! Well, first one I've made so far anyway! Mum was doing some stamping, so I got her to do some for me too (she's so much better at it)! Here's a Whimsy stamp from the Snickerdoodle kids collection that I won on their blog hop. It's called Sledding with Marty and Max, and I think it will be a great card for one of the boys in the family!!

I've used two pieces of snowflake paper from a magazine freebie pack, and I've added some glitter (glamour dust mixed with blue) for the snow on the ground, in absence of Polar white Flowersoft (which has now been ordered). A few sequins, gems and a bit of ribbon to embellish! Obviously the image is coloured with Promarkers!

Simple Birthday Card with checks!!

My friend's mum is not a fan of fancy/detailed cards, so my mum and I struggle to make her something she might like (she can be quite blunt at times about whether or not she is keen on the cards we've shown her before).

I've used some yellow checked (however that's spelt) paper from a magazine freebie pack, and the three floral squares are stickers from the June Cardmaking & Papercraft freebie pack. I added a little sentiment, a ribbon, and a punched flower with gem centre. I can't do much plainer than that!!

The heart backing paper is from the Dovecraft Glamour Print pack. The little tag was from a magazine freebie pack, and I've added a peel off and an eyelet to it, with some little flowers & gems to finish!
